The Hate For God's Word

 Speak unto us smooth things...

There is a deep and unshakable comfort in reading these words from 1 Corinthians 15:53-55:

"For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. Then, when the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’ O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?"

Or Acts 16:25-26:

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

Many will rejoice in this truth, shouting "Amen!" as they cling to the hope of eternal life.

Yet when I share these words from: John 8:44-45:

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

Or 1 Corinthians 6:9-11:

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who practice perversion, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

Or Proverbs 29:1:

"A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy."

Suddenly, the mood shifts. Many take offense. The same people who rejoice in the promise of heaven and the powers of the Almighty, turn away when confronted with the reality of sin as if the message has come out of a different book other than the Bible.

Scripture describes such people in Isaiah 30:9-10:

9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord: 10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits,

Jeremiah 5:30-31

[30]A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; [31]The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Why? Because the world has been blinded by the devil. The enemy has lulled humanity into a false sense of security, convincing us that sin is to be tolerated—embraced even. We revel in wrongdoing and demand validation for it. Yet, look at the prophets, the apostles, and Christ Himself—did any of them celebrate sin? No! They condemned it, they called for change, and for that, they were persecuted, rejected, and in many cases, killed.

This world may deny the truth, but denial does not change reality. God’s Word remains unshaken. Judgment is coming, and it will be a dreadful day. Those who stand in defiance—proud, self-righteous, scoffing at conviction—will face a fate more terrifying than they can imagine: the lake of fire.

We cannot speak with our mouths claiming to love God yet our actions prove otherwise. Both must go, hand in hand. We cannot get sweet and bitter water from the same fountain. God's way is holiness.

Scripture warns us of this deception and what God had done to them that don't love the truth:

"With all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." —2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

Modern churches preach comfort over conviction, filling sanctuaries with soothing words instead of the call to repentance. Yet Christ commanded that the message of repentance and forgiveness be proclaimed across the world. But what do we see? People living in sin, attending church with no desire to change. Jesus asks, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

Many preachers have a zeal to speak but without knowledge. They are merely entertainers and motivational speakers, giving joy and tickling the ears of the congregations. The preachers have been instructed by God in Isaiah 58:1: "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins." Instead they do the opposite, pacifying the sinners.

For every sin that the heart is fond of, their will be a preacher or a church that will condone it. That's how much the devil has deceived humanity. Telling apart the people of God from the worldly people is becoming impossible. They dress, talk and act all the same. Where is the remnant church? Where are the sanctified and holy?

Fortunately, God's word never changes. Sin remains to be sin whoever much it is covered, disguised or packaged.

Be warned, we are in the last days: 2 Timothy 3:1-7 states:

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The devil has worked hard to make us despise the truth. He has numbed us, hardened our heart, and made us resist the very Spirit meant to bring us life. But Christ said, “The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life.” If the Word offends us, it is not a mere message we reject—it is God Himself.

Repent, my brothers and sisters. The time is short. As 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 warns:

"If our gospel is hid, it is hid to those who are perishing. In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."

I am no prophet of doom. I am simply a man who sees the truth, sees the hypocrisy in men and women and refuses to stay silent. Im a man who loves people and wish them well, and I wish I could save but unfortunately, its not in my power. I'm not speaking as a perfect man, but as a person who knows right, isn't pretending and striving to live holy.

One day, many will hear these words from Matthew 7:21-23:

"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name cast out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"

The Word of God wounds the flesh because it calls us to die to ourselves. But we have no choice but to accept it, to love it, and to obey it. If you reject it—if you dismiss it, mock it, or take offense— if there be even one single thing you fight, you do not reject the preacher or the message.

You reject God Himself, and the love of the Father is not in you. For that reason, you will never attain eternal life.

If it is something you are struggling with and you are striving to come up to it, you are not fighting Jesus. You are asking God to help you overcome. But if the Word commands us to do something, and we lean to our own way or reject it, we reject God. Luke 9:22 teaches: "Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day."

We live in a sad world and many will perish including family and friends because the world has rejected God. Just like Elijah did, so must the world come back to order.

Beloved, humble yourselves, allow the word of God to rebuke you, reproof and chastise you. Let every soul be subject to the Higher Power, God.

Repent!
