God’s Student
Ten Important Lessons
1. Don't struggle to change people.
It’s not my role to transform hearts or make others see things my way. We can only plant seeds—true conviction comes from God. As it’s written: "Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it."
Don't try to do God's job, because when He does it, He does it perfectly.
2. Always sit in judgment on yourself
Never fall into the trap of believing you’ve reached perfection. Constantly examine your life with humility, seeking to grow and improve. Bring your struggles before God in prayer, asking Him for the strength to rise above what holds you back. As the psalmist pleads in Psalm 51:10: "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."
3. Embrace Reality as It Is
Every season serves a purpose. Life unfolds according to divine timing, and in that perfect time, God makes all things beautiful. As it is written: "God’s purpose shall always prevail."
4. Love God Above All
To love God means to place Him above every earthly attachment—beyond spouse, children, or friends. When you truly love Him, you gain the strength to surrender your will and embrace His perfect plan. The voice that has the final say over your life is none other than your Creator.
As it is written: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will make your path straight."
5. The Knowledge of God Defines True Identity
A man or woman who knows God possesses a treasure far greater than the riches of this world. Without this knowledge, a soul wanders, lost and unanchored, without true identity.
2 Peter 1:2-4 declares:
"Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has granted us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him, who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these, He has given us His exceedingly great and precious promises, so that through them, we may partake in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by lust."
6. Every action doesn't need a reaction
Some conflicts are best left unchallenged. Surprisingly, the Bible offers wisdom here: "Agree with your adversary quickly." Sometimes peace is found in silence, not resistance.
7. Focus on Your Own Growth
Salvation is deeply personal. No one else can walk this road for you—not family, not friends. Scripture declares: "Save yourself." This journey is between you and God alone.
8. Holiness Is the Pathway
From Jesus to the prophets and apostles, holiness marked the lives of those who walked closely with God. It is written: "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." God calls us to be holy because He is holy.
9. Live Only by What Is Written
If it isn’t written in the Word, don’t believe it. If it isn’t written, don’t practice it. If it isn’t written, don’t accept it. Scripture is our compass and final authority. As it is written: "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."
Remember Joshua 1:8: "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night... for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
10. Change is a necessity
The first stage or approach to change is repentance. Repentance is not only the acknowledgement of what I am, but for the way I am. It is written, "Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen."
Each lesson is a step closer to walking in His will and living out the life He’s called us to live. Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
