Set Thine House In Order
Hebrews 9:27 proclaims a stark truth: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
At the moment of death, no matter how grand the eulogies, how heartfelt the tributes, or how filled the funeral hall, if a soul has lived in defiance of the Creator, no earthly accolades can alter their fate. Fame and fortune mean nothing in the eyes of the divine if one has not followed the righteous path.
Are you truly prepared for the moment when death comes calling? Do you know the hour of your reckoning?
Consider the life of the unrighteous—engaged in fornication, theft, murder, drunkenness, drug abuse, pride, and defiance. The world seems to glorify sin and rebellion, drowning in hedonistic pursuits while dismissing divine commands.
1 Kings 18:21 captures this divided allegiance: “How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him.” Yet, the people remained silent, unable to commit.
Life and death rest in God's hands, and we must strive to align ourselves with His will. Romans 14:8 reminds us that “whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord.” Our existence—whether in life or death—is bound to Him.
In our modern age, the devil has embedded himself in worldly distractions, seeking to suffocate our spiritual essence and ensnare us in darkness. Music festivals and extravagant parties draw thousands, while churches struggle to fill their pews. The modern church, often preoccupied with entertainment and prosperity, rarely fosters genuine transformation. Young people shy away from Christian identity, yet proudly proclaim affiliations contrary to divine teachings.
Judgment looms closer than we think. Revelation 20:12 paints a sobering picture: “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
The urgency cannot be overstated. Now is the time to repent and seek God with sincerity. 2 Corinthians 13:5 urges us to “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.” Are we living in faith, or have we become reprobates?
Hebrews 12:14 warns, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”
The conclusion is inescapable: Fear God, keep His commandments—this is the essence of our duty. Embrace the truth of God before it’s too late.
