End Times
Though the world may shift and transform, God's word remains an unshakable constant.
In Matthew 24:35, it is written, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away." Likewise, in Mark 1:14-15, we see Jesus entering Galilee after John's imprisonment, proclaiming, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel."
The return of the Lord draws near, yet the reverence for God, the call to holy and consecrated living, repentance, and baptism are seldom heard from the pulpit. Instead, churches have embraced motivational speeches and entertainment, neglecting the heart of the gospel.
Those who remember the past speak of a time when holiness and sanctification were central to church teaching. The contrast between then and now is as stark as night and day.
The church once stood apart from the world—distinct in both speech and appearance. You could recognize a churchgoer by their demeanor, and there was an unspoken respect for their presence. It was common to hear, “Don’t act like that around them.”
If a believer found themselves in a place they didn’t belong, it raised eyebrows. People would wonder, "What are they doing here?"
Leviticus 10:10 reminds us, “You must distinguish between the holy and the unholy, between the clean and the unclean."
Yet today, we see a troubling shift in our churches and society. Elders and pastors with multiple wives, gay and lesbian choir members, performances in place of praise, and an obsession with money and tithing over spiritual truth—these are the marks of our current state.
The purpose of the church has been forgotten. It was never meant to entertain. We have strayed far from God’s intent, and if we do not repent, we will find ourselves headed for destruction—even as we sit in the pews.
As Ecclesiastes 12:13 states, “…hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."🙏
