The Day Of The Lord

2 Peter 3:10

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

The whole earth is going to pass away and everything in it. The cars, houses, clothing, money etc the Bible says: “Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”

There is no need to get caught up in anything in this life other than God Himself. 

Jushua 24:15

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD

1 Kings 18:21

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Choose…

Choose between your money and God.

Choose between your lover and God.

Choose between your job and God.

Choose between your addiction and God.

Choose between your beauty and God.

Choose between your entertainment and God.

Choose between your preacher and God. 

Some of us were doing pretty good until that money came and we rode that salvation out of the window. 

The Bible says; “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” That’s how serious this is.

Psalms 49:6-8

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches.

None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:

No amount of money can escape us from the grave. Your date of arrival, you did not know and your date of departure you also don’t. 

So between the date of you being born and the date of your departure, what plans are you making to meet your Maker?

You can be as rich, famous, arrogant, rude, beautiful, disrespectful, disobedient and wicked as you want but the day of the Lord will surely come and we will be all caught unaware.

2 Corinthians 7:1

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Revelation 20:12

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

God is keeping records on everybody. All thoughts and actions are recorded. Including what you intended to do and didn’t do.

The things God has recorded about you, would you want anybody else to know?
