2 Chronicles 15:1-2

1 And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:

2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

The statement "If you forsake God, He will forsake you" is a succinct summary of the message delivered by the prophet Azariah in 2 Chronicles 15:2. This passage emphasizes the conditional nature of the relationship between God and His people, suggesting that divine favor and presence depend on continued faithfulness and seeking after God. Here's the relevant part of the verse again:

The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you."

This verse indicates that God’s presence and support are contingent upon the people's active seeking and remaining faithful to Him. If they turn away and forsake Him, they can expect that He will no longer be with them in the same way.

This concept is sometimes used to challenge the doctrine of "once saved, always saved." This doctrine asserts that once a person is saved by faith in Christ, their salvation is secure forever, regardless of their subsequent actions or faithfulness. However, verses like 2 Chronicles 15:2 suggest that a continued relationship with God requires ongoing faithfulness and seeking after Him, and that turning away from God could result in losing His favor and presence.

This interpretation supports the view that salvation and a relationship with God are dynamic and require continued commitment and faithfulness.

You might be going to church, baptized, singing, preaching, giving tithe etc but you are not of God; just pretending and wasting time. Doing good in front of the masses but practicing evil behind the curtains and despite listening to the Word, no change.

Maybe God had left you a long time ago.

The only thing He has given you and allowed you to enjoy is life.

It’s about time we reflect upon our relationship with the Almighty God.

Philippians 2:12

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

It’s prudent that we live within the terms and conditions set by God.

We are called to live ethical lives according to biblical standards, avoiding sin and striving to embody the character of Christ in our daily actions.

These principles collectively guide us in how to serve God, fostering a relationship with Him through faith, love, obedience, and righteous living.

2 Chronicles 7:14

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Psalms 34:15-22

15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

“…hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” 🙏🏽

  1. Thanks for sharing this, MO. It’s almost an unwritten rule that God has got our back. But, we need to consistently seek His face.
