Trials

    It’s War That Makes Generals.

 Seth Godin

When God used people to show his power, did he use comfort or trials? The answer is trials—God’s most used tool.

Think about the stories from the Bible of people God used. He entrusted Job, Joseph, Daniel, Moses, David, Isaiah, Paul and many others with major trials. Most of the people we remember faced great trials.

If I want to be used by God for his glory, I must be prepared for trials. God entrusts us with trials. Lots of them. Paul said that “through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22)

Below are some perspective changers that God has encouraged me with while facing trials.

  1. Trials are part of God’s work
  2. Trials puts God’s power on display
  3. Trials purify and strengthen our faith
  4. Trials make me depend upon God
  5. Trials show others that God is dependable
  6. Trials are an apportunit for reward
  7. Trials may be spiritual warfare
  8. Trials may be for discipline
  9. Trials remind me of my weaknesses
  10. Trials prepare us to comfort others

Are trials hard? Absolutely. But I would never trade any of my trials because of what God did  and is doing through them.

Don’t run from the trials. Don’t fortify your life so that you can stay safe and comfortable. You will miss out on being used by God. And so when they come, bare with them.

God entrusts us with trials because He is using us for His glory. He is at work in us, through us and around us. Take courage. He is working.

  1. God, why this, and why that?.God will always tell you to wait for His timing. God has delivered many in the past, but when you are going through bad times all you’re thinking about is right now. I’ve seen God use trials to build people up, answer different prayers, open doors, help others, and I’ve seen many miracles where I knew it was only God who could have done this.

While I was worrying, the Lord gave me comfort, encouragement, motivation, and He was working behind the scenes. If as believers we’re burdened by when our brothers and sisters suffer, imagine how God feels. Always remember that He loves you and He reminds us time after time in His Word that He will never forsake us.Prayer and Faith is the key.
