SuperHumans

Life often teaches us to view things from a different perspective.

Recently, I have come to realize that paraplegia—and other conditions often labeled as disabilities—are not limitations but rather different forms of ability.

I am learning new ways of approaching life, and I continue to be amazed at what human beings are capable of. We tend to grow comfortable with familiar routines and methods, believing that life can only be lived in one set way. But the true test of strength and resilience appears when those very comforts are taken away.

How do you drive without feet?
How do you eat, shower, dress, swim, cook, or even write without hands?
How do you move forward if you are blind or paralyzed?
How do you communicate when your voice has been silenced?
How do you continue to live when parts of you feel broken or incomplete?

Picture this: waking up each day in total darkness, forced to rely only on touch, sound, and smell to navigate the world. Imagine being unable to speak, yet finding the power to express joy, humor, and love through signs, gestures, or even technology. Imagine losing the ability to walk, yet regaining independence through wheelchairs, prosthetics, or robotic exoskeletons. Imagine standing on a rally track with no feet, yet racing with the same passion and adrenaline as anyone else.

Who would have thought that hands could take on the work of feet, or that feet could perform the tasks of hands?

Are these miracles? Are they special talents? No. These are men and women who have refused to surrender, who have gone the extra mile and chosen to live victoriously against all odds.

I no longer see them as “disabled.” I see them as SUPERHUMANS.

It takes an unbreakable will, a positive outlook, and—above all—the grace of God to accomplish such things. As Scripture reminds us:

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak" (Isaiah 40:29).

In every deficiency, God makes a way. In every weakness, His strength is revealed. God does not want anybody to perish and has called the whole world to repentance. He wants us to be baptized by water in the name of Jesus Christ and tarry to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. Walk steadfastly according to the teachings of Jesus Christ all your life, and you shall receive eternal life.
