Thorns

 

Life will give you an ample supply of thorns. You don’t have to ask for one; they will find you. Some disease, poverty, loneliness, lack of patience, weaknesses, insults, lack of, different needs and wants… life will give you enough of thorns!

And so, why does God allow these thorns in our lives? You have prayed about it for days, months and years on end but still… 

It’s a gift to have the thorns. God knows what you are prone to. And so He matches your problem/s (thorns) with an equal balance. When you have a weakness and from time and again you fall and cry out for help; it torments you. The Thorns that torment you are a constant reminder of how much you need God. It’s the thing God gives you to teach you lessons. When you beckon and talk to God all the time, you grow, learn and draw closer. Certain things we cannot learn through advice but through adversity.

Someone once said, “To live is to suffer. You better find meaning in the suffering.”

2nd Corinthians 12:7-10

7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 

8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 

10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Embrace your thorn/s. It’s Gods gift!!

His Grace is more than sufficient.
