To Be Called A Father
Father's day comes early.
Their is no day my son cries no matter what the reason, that I feel I should do something about the situation.
His pain, fears and needs have all over sudden become mine. These are things I never anticipated but they have now become part and parcel of me. I guess thats how life has introduced me to fatherhood.
I'm a grown, married man but my father has never seen me to be so. I'm always that baby to him and he never calls be by name but by the nicknames I was given; thats how its always been. Looks like a grown man being pampered; but I see love.
I see the sacrifices my old man has made so that we can all have comfortable lives and all I can say is thank you.
During this time that I've been unwell, I cant say that my father has stepped up or done anything extraordinary; he has just continued to prove himself over and over again of his position as my father.
The things he has done I cant count, measure or even compare to no other.
Now, thats my earthly father!!
The title of a father doesnt come easy; it must be earned. Take note that I'm not talking about boyfriends, boys or men that once in a while throw in goodies for your family or children, NO!!
Im talking about the men that despite their financial status still work hard to put food on the table, provide a roof and clothe their families.
Im talking about the men that are supportive enough to carry the physical and emotional pains that the family (wife and children) may encounter.
Im talking about the men that are bold enough to stand and instill disipline when necessary.
I'm talking about the men that are able to take a bullet when the family is threatened.
I'm talking about the men that lead the family to Christ. Teaching them that God is The Way, The Truth and The Life.
THATS MY DEFINITION OF A FATHER.
Imagine if your earthly father can do this/that much, just imagine how much your Heavenly Father can do.
Today I want to congratulate all the men called fathers. May The Good Lord bless you and keep you always; providing your needs according to His riches in Glory.
