Prophet Without Honour

Reaching out to those who once knew you—especially when your past was steeped in sin—can be one of life’s greatest challenges. Many cannot perceive the change in you, and instead judge based on who you once were. This is a burden I know well, for as it is written, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house” (Mark 6:4).

When I speak about the things of God, I often find myself under scrutiny. People challenge my words, my teachings- which in truth are not mine but God’s, even when I read directly from Scripture. It seems the very fact that I am the one speaking causes them to doubt and disbelieve. They question my understanding, imagining that I am either twisting the Word or simply don’t know what I’m talking about.

In their minds, I remain the same person who once reveled in the very sins I now denounce. They hear a "sinful man" and wonder how I dare speak of righteousness. They see someone who has not been trained in theological schools, and thus dismiss my words as false or misguided. They hear teachings that differ from the traditions they've held for so long, and it unsettles them. To them, I am but a young convert, lacking the authority or depth of knowledge they expect.

If these words were coming from a well-educated scholar or a famous preacher, I have no doubt they would have been readily embraced. However, we must remember that this kind of revelation is not made known to everyone. As it says in 1 Corinthians 2:10, 12-14: "But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God." We have not received the spirit of this world, but the Spirit that comes from God, allowing us to understand the gifts freely given to us by Him. We speak, not with human wisdom, but with words taught by the Holy Spirit, explaining spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. But the person without the Spirit cannot accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, as they seem foolish to them; they cannot comprehend them because such understanding comes only through spiritual discernment.”

Still, I’m not surprised by how they view me or interpret the message I convey to them. It is exactly as the Scriptures foretold. As Jesus Himself was rejected, so too do they reject the truth spoken through me. A mere son of a carpenter, born in a manger; to them he wasn’t qualified to be the Messiah. The Pharisees thought He was a blasphemer; Peter and John were dismissed as unlearned and ignorant, and yet the people marveled at the wisdom that flowed from their mouths (Acts 4:13). Their reactions mirror the pride and unbelief that blinds so many today.

Im just a young man, a sinner in the eyes of many. A man with no theological knowhow and with minimal education. A feeble, weak man sitted on a wheelchair. What good news can I teach people, what truth or revelationcan i offer? This is how men and women see me.

I can say with boldness that God has granted me understanding that many lack. As men look on the outward, God sees the inward. The Holy Spirit has opened my eyes and my heart to truths that were once hidden to me. “The unfolding of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple” (Psalm 119:130). Though I do not claim to comprehend all things, new revelations come to me as God wills.

This is something that can only be grasped through the Spirit. Bible schools and formal education cannot grant true spiritual insight, for “the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). The Holy Spirit is the true Teacher, revealing the deep things of God to those He chooses.

Yet, despite the clarity and truth of what I share, many will remain lost. Their judgment and dismissal of me only reflect the hardness of their hearts. They have grown comfortable in their sin and see no need to change. Pride blinds them, for they believe they already know all they need to know, and someone like me can offer them nothing new. As the prophet Isaiah said, “For they are a rebellious people, lying children, children unwilling to hear the instruction of the Lord” (Isaiah 30:9).

But none of this is new. The Bible says: “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28). Yet alongside this outpouring, Paul warned us that “in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1).

We are in such times now. As 2 Timothy 4:3-4 warns, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” But despite this, I will continue to “speak of the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2).

Consider the numerous individuals in the Bible whom God called to spread His message. These were often men regarded as weak and insignificant by society, yet God used them to confound the powerful. As it says in 1 Corinthians 1:27-28: “But God chose the foolish things of the world to put the wise to shame, and He chose the weak things of the world to humble the strong. He chose the lowly and despised things, even things that are not, to nullify the things that are.”

I'm pleading with you to listen and not harden your hearts, do not despise my counsel that comes from God and humble yourselves before the Lord. Earnestly pray over this issue that God may reveal what is true to you. Fight anything in this world but do not fight the word of God.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.🙏
