Whose opinion holds sway over your life: God’s or man’s?
As Christians, we affirm that the Bible is the very voice of God, speaking directly to us. It addresses every facet of our existence—far beyond the realms of geometry or biology. It guides us through the complexities of marriage, parenting, relationships with others, managing our possessions, caring for our environment, fulfilling societal roles, battling sin, and serving God. It encompasses every aspect of our earthly journey.
So, who is the ultimate teacher and judge? Surely, it is God.
Whenever faced with life’s dilemmas, my guiding principle is to consult the Scripture and discern what God has to say. This is not an overreach of spirituality or self-righteousness; rather, it is a recognition that God’s wisdom far surpasses our own.
If the Word of God was sufficient for the prophets and apostles, why do we feel that we need more outside of God’s word? Jesus, Himself came as a living example and did things commanding us to do as He had done. Who are we to question?
Nothing should govern our lives but Scripture.
Isaiah 55:8-9 declares, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Often, we might shy away from divine counsel, preferring to rely on human opinions. Yet, when we reject God’s perspective, we reveal our own folly. No human opinion—whether from a scholar with multiple degrees, a parent, or even a pastor—can match the authority of God’s. When my advice leads astray, I am accountable. But who can challenge God’s judgment? His ways are infallible.
Psalm 119:160 asserts, “The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting.”
2 Samuel 7:28 proclaims, “Now, O Lord God, You are God, and Your words are truth, and You have promised this good thing to Your servant.”
Matthew 22:29, Jesus answered and said unto them, “Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
I do not want to error and that's live I strive to live by the Scripture.
Hosea 4:6, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
In every decision, consult God’s word.
His counsel will invariably lead to the best outcomes. It's God's way or No way.
“…hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God and obey His commandments for this is the whole duty of man.”🙏
