Forgiveness

 Never allow your emotions to hold you hostage until you cannot forgive anybody no matter what they’ve done against you.

We’re all guilty of offending other people, and we’ve all been offended by other people; that’s the facts of living in a sinful world. But as Christians we’re told to be forgiving people. It’s impossible to live a victorious Christian life with unforgiveness in our hearts. It isn’t the offense that destroys relationships, it’s the inability to forgive that destroys relationships. 

Unforgiveness is poison to the soul. Unforgiveness is a sin that locks the unforgiving person in their own self-made prison. It’s as bad as being enslaved to mind-altering drugs or alcoholism. Unforgiveness is a sin that will destroy its own container. Unforgiveness is a sin that will destroy you like an incurable cancer. Unforgiveness is a sin that causes bitterness in our life and with it, it gives growth or sprouts out new sins… hatred, anger, foul speech, gossip etc

Forgive.. always forgive!!

Ephesians 4:25-27

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27 Neither give place to the devil.

The moment you seize not to forgive, you’ve given place to the devil.

Luke 6:45 

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Do not be ruled by your emotions.

An unforgiving heart will definitely produce evil.

If you want God to forgive you, you have to forgive those who have wronged you as well.

While you are struggling to forgive someone, no repentance you give is recognized by heaven.

Mark 11:25

“But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”

If you haven’t forgiven whoever, God has also not forgiven you. You can get on your knees, cry and repent all you want but heaven will turn a deaf ear towards you. 

Whatever service you will render to God shall be in vain until… you forgive.

Matthew 6:14-15

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

So, while you take your time not forgiving and sinning at the same time, no forgiveness will come to you. Whatever the sin they might have done to you, if you do not forgive, your sins are still hanging on to you, fresh. Doesn’t matter if you pray or fast or even baptized. You still remain a sinner and will never see heaven.

Ephesians 4:31-32

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”

This is why most or some of us are not getting answers and blessings from God because we hold on to certain things; we haven’t forgiven those who wronged us.

The Bible doesn’t say choose what to forgive or what to hold on to… the instruction is ONE, FORGIVE!!

Sometimes it takes pain to eleviate pain. 

You are already struggling to do good; you are in pain and then the word of God comes with more stringent measures putting you into more pain.

But the end result is a good, straight forward, holy man or woman.

Take this pain positively and do the will of God.

Hebrews 12:14

14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

Forgive… forgive always.

Above all, Fear God.
