On His way
He was known for his atrocities. He was feared and respected at the same time. The sound of his name made men and women scatter; especially Christians.
All through it all he performed his heinous works with passion, believing that he was right and men and women who were followers of Christ should fall by his sword.
What he didn’t know was that his vile, passion and commitment to perform his evil works was the strength and ingredients needed to promote and push the Gospel of Christ. He couldn’t see it by himself let alone imagine nor could the Christians see or even think of such a man turning to Christ.
But God The Creator saw and hatched the perfect plan.
I dive into my imagination to see this great man with an army charged and ready to persecute God’s children. I can see the smack on his face as he thinks and imagines slashing, beating and burning innocent, helpless Christians. He is on fire.
At times words don’t suffice, preaching doesn’t work, beating or even punishment by man May not work and so The Lord steps in. And when He steps in, even the most toughest and resilient bends to give way.
A bright light shining from the sky fell upon his eyes and blinded him. I wonder why it had to be his eyes. Maybe by loosing his way he got to ponder about the many evils he performed. The darkness and evils he was trapped under.
Maybe upon restoration of his sight he could look at life from a different perspective.
From the perspective of the owner of sight.
The Light Himself.
God can create or change our trajectories. It doesn’t matter how well equipped or passionate we are about what we do. All God cares about is if it’s His light that we share or project.
On his way to Damascus, Saul met The Lord. And since that day he was never the same again. Darkness was taken away and Paul proclaimed light. His soul was burning for Christ.
My journey was cut short as well for whatever reason that only God knows. And here I am doing the complete opposite of what I could have been doing at my destination; preaching The Word.
I don’t need to go back and make amends. I’m at the right place, the right time and the right state. It’s all God’s plan.
We all have fallen into sin. We all have indulged into some sins with passion.
It time to change course.
God forgives!!

DeleteReminds of that Samaritan woman in John 4:30-42, after meeting Christ, she went back to her village (to those who knew how evil her past was) and spread the good news of Jesus Christ, she told them, come and see a man who has told me everything I ever did! Indeed our God forgives.
