Hold The Rains

It was late in the evening and The dark clouds gathered in the sky.  Flashes of lightening could be seen. Thunder roared and rumbled as if to make a statement. It was about to rain!

Some cold wind blew heavily and a few droplets of rain fell on us. I was now certain it was going to pour.

We were back in the village and Unfortunately were so busy outside preparing food for the visitors that were coming the following day.

I could see that everyone was unsettled and they started to pack a few things back to the house. As I sat on my wheelchair I asked myself if it was possible for God to hold the rains so that we could finish deep frying the fish on the three stone fire.

I closed my eyes and quickly said a prayer with a request to God to hold the rains.

The wind blew furiously and a few drizzles fell on us but I said to myself as a gesture of faith that I shall not move out from the open to shelter.

I then told my aunt to put the remaining fish in the oil to cook and told her that the rain will pass. Hesitantly she did that.

Time went by so fast and miraculously we finished all the works. I was so happy and thanked God in my heart.

Later on in the night it rained cats and dogs; I couldn’t believe it.

Oh man of little faith!!

Later on I started questioning myself whether it was just luck, nature or had God instantly answered my prayer.

I’m yet to find out...
