Father's Day 2025

Being a father is not merely a biological role—it is a divine calling. It carries a weighty responsibility that demands humility, love, and unwavering commitment. Fatherhood extends far beyond being a provider or male figure in the home. It mirrors the very heart of God, our Heavenly Father, who sets the perfect example of what it means to nurture, guide, protect, and love unconditionally (Psalm 103:13 – “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.”).

One of the most sacred roles entrusted to a father is that of the spiritual leader—the priest of his household. More than financial provision, God calls fathers to shepherd their families in truth and righteousness, teaching them His Word and leading them in prayer (Deuteronomy 6:6–7 – “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road…”). To do this well, a father must first walk closely with God, drawing wisdom and strength from Him daily.

Sadly, in today’s world, many men have abandoned this high calling—whether through absence, ignorance, or neglect—and countless women have been forced to carry both roles. This is not the design God intended, and the family structure suffers because of it (Ezekiel 22:30 – “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap…but I found no one.”).

To the men who are standing firm—those who are faithfully embracing the role God has given them—be encouraged. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58). God sees your faithfulness, and in due season, your reward will come.

I lift up a prayer for every father today: May the Lord bless you with health, peace, wisdom, strength, and mercy. May He empower you to walk in His ways and fulfill your calling with boldness and grace.

Happy Father’s Day. May you stand tall, not just as a man, but as a reflection of the Father in Heaven.
