The Guilt of Mankind
It grieves my heart to acknowledge that we dwell in a time of spiritual decay. The moral fabric of society is unraveling before our eyes, as people live without restraint, unconcerned with the consequences of their actions or the state of their souls.
Job 15:16 ask’s: “How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?”
We find ourselves in an era where knowledge is abundant, but wisdom is scarce. "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools" (Romans 1:22). The moment correction is offered, many cry out that they are being judged. Men and women grow angry, act self righteous and self centered, demanding, "Who are you to question my choices?" Indeed, "There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness" (Proverbs 30:12).
Someone once said, "truth is not what you want it to be; it is what it is. And you must bend to its power or live a lie."
The mantra of this age seems to be, "I will do what I want," echoing the ancient cry, "Every man did that which was right in his own eyes" (Judges 21:25). It is proclaimed loudly, not just in the streets, but even in the halls of churches. The pulpits that once thundered against sin now offer mere whispers—motivational speeches wrapped in humor, designed to please rather than convict. Sermons have grown soft, tailored to avoid offense, and I am left wondering, "How will we be cleansed if we are not confronted with the truth?" For "faithful are the wounds of a friend" (Proverbs 27:6), yet few dare to deliver those wounds today.
Look around, and you will see the fruits of this rebellion. The slogans of the times are loud and clear: "My dress, my choice," as modesty is cast aside. "My body, my choice," as sexual immorality rises unchecked. "I choose my own identity," as the order of God's creation is questioned with the rise of the LGBTQ community. This is nothing new, for "they changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator" (Romans 1:25).
It is a time where God's principles are disregarded, and man becomes his own lawgiver, declaring, "I believe what feels right." But Scripture warns us: "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" (Proverbs 14:12). With such attitudes prevailing, we must ask ourselves: Are we not witnessing the fulfillment of what was foretold?
"For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good" (2 Timothy 3:2-3). Indeed, perilous times are upon us. Families are fractured, children scorn their parents, marriages are torn apart by pride and selfishness, while the allure of drugs, alcohol, and the party life consumes many. And worst of all, there is no fear of the Lord, the One who "gives to all life, and breath, and all things" (Acts 17:25.)
The apostle Paul foresaw these things and wrote in Romans 1:28-31:
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Making me wonder if God has given up on us already and given unto us a reprobate mind.
We live in the shadow of these prophecies. But in the midst of this, we are not without hope. It is time to turn back to our Creator, to humble ourselves before Him. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).
This is not a time for comfort or complacency. "Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2). Let us re-evaluate our lives, for "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Proverbs 9:10). We must return to Him while there is still time, for the days are evil, and the hour is short.
Here is a stern warning; “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)
Isaiah 58:1 admonishes us to, “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”
“…hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” 🙏🏽

For i am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ! Oh how i wish we would know that there is power in the blood of Jesus! All we need is just to believe in that life changing power!!
