This is how the world describes marriage.
Marriage is a legally or formally recognized union between two people, typically entered into with the intention of creating a lifelong partnership. It involves emotional, social, and often religious or spiritual bonds between partners.

The Bible discusses marriage in various passages, emphasizing the importance of commitment, love, and respect between spouses. For example, in Genesis 2:24, it says, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." Additionally, Ephesians 5:25 states, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." These verses and others highlight the sacredness and significance of marriage in the Christian faith.
Several notable marriages are described in the Bible:
1. Adam and Eve: The first couple created by God, their union is described in Genesis 2:21-25.
2. Isaac and Rebekah: Their story is detailed in Genesis 24, where Abraham sends his servant to find a wife for Isaac, and Rebekah becomes his wife.
3. Jacob and Rachel (and Leah): Jacob's marriages to both Rachel and Leah are described in Genesis 29. He initially worked for seven years to marry Rachel but was tricked into marrying Leah first. He then worked another seven years to marry Rachel.

5. Joseph and Mary: The parents of Jesus, their betrothal and subsequent marriage are mentioned in the Gospels, particularly in the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke.
These are just a few examples, but there are many other marriages mentioned throughout the Bible, each with its own significance and lessons.
The purpose of marriage varies depending on cultural, religious, and personal beliefs. Generally, it serves as a union between two people for companionship, mutual support, love, and often for procreation and raising a family. Marriage can also provide a framework for emotional and financial stability, as well as spiritual and social fulfillment.
Marriage is service to both men and God.
When you love someone and marry that person, you are expressing love and what is love? God is love.
Colossians 3:17
17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
