Fallen

The place was rocky with uneven terrain. I was tired of sitting under the tree all alone and tried to wheel myself to the outside kitchen where the rest were.

I pushed as hard as I could but unfortunately my front wheels hit a small rock and I tipped over.

It was so quick I couldn’t believe it. I had done a summersault on my wheelchair. I banged my head on the ground and that left me with a ringing sound inside. I lay motionless on the ground for a while holding my head.

Everyone was there watching in disbelief. My wife and cousin ran up to me to offer assistance.

I looked over and saw my mum. She witnessed the whole ordeal and walked away. I could see the sadness in her eyes.

I was quickly helped back onto my wheelchair and immediately I sat I begun to make some jokes about it to ease the tension.

Deep down in my heart, I was sad. I couldn’t believe that I had fallen. It was a bad, sad reminder of how helpless one can become.

Life is like that and I’ve accepted the situation.

It doesn’t matter how many times we fall but how many times we get up, put a smile on our faces and have another go at the same thing. Sit down for a moment and pray, think, strategize then try again.

Today, I want to encourage all those that might have fallen. The business that you are running might have fallen, your marriage might have fallen, you might be ill, your hopes and dreams might be dwindling, your might be job hunting or even you might have fallen in sin: Rise up, put a smile on your face and give it another go. 

Imagine if we never had hope. Then what exactly would we be living for?  Hope keeps us going. Never loose it; your time is coming.

Jeremiah 29:11
